Does anyone have any experience with the Pilot Automac mechanical pencil?

I have only seen pictures on the web, still haven't found any info on them besides some tech specs. Last Xmas I asked one of the few local stores that sell Pilot products in town if they could possibly get me one. They said to me that Pilot representative in the country didn't even know of their existence. I will try again this year, though I bet it will only be possible via import. I do think they are only readily available in Japan and probably some other Asian countries. I really would like to get one, maybe in silver.

I've almost purchased one on-line a couple of times now, but I always shy away when I see the reviews that say that the tip wiggles when you write with it. There are lots of glowing reviews, but it's not clear if those reviewers aren't sensitive to tip wiggle or if the more negative reviewers got pencils with an unusual amount of tip wiggle.

Will have to do another search then. I've looked up when they were released. Retractable/vanishing point mechanisms tend to be like that, I always expect them to have a little play on the tip. I like better when they don't though I can live with that, it's the "nature of the beasts". There are some exceptions, like the Pilot H-2003. I think I'll go for a rOtring 800 first... for my birthday! R.
